The group emphasises community, friendship and slowing down to enjoy everyday moments. Simon has played music since childhood, joined the band Jupiter at 18 and later signed to Alan McGee’s label with the band January; after years as an early‑childhood teacher he recorded his album Every Day in The Sun using vintage equipment. The album, released after the group’s nomination for the Michael McGlynn Newcomer Award, contains popular children’s songs and originals like “Chicky Chicky Chick Bok Bok”.
