‘Quality children’s songs play an integral part in children’s lives. Whether inspirational, informative, humorous or emotional, they help children to become happier and more civilized adults. Although not often given the respect it deserves, children’s music is as important in the growing up process as children’s literature’
Tina Harris (Lah Lah)
“Celebrating children’s music is incredibly important to the music industry, why? Because today’s kids are tomorrow’s adult audience. Having awards that encourage music from different styles and influences of music encourages musicians from all genres to create quality inspirational and educational songs for kids and their families. Having an awards that showcase the Australia Children’s music industry would help elevate the art form and give it the recognition it desperately needs.’

‘ New Zealand has had a children’s music awards for years and the diversity of performers and languages that have thrived because of this annual acknowledgement from their peers, in my opinion, has created such a depth of music for children in that country. Having a separate stand-alone awards evening, allows us to not only celebrate those who are at the forefront of our children’s musical scene, but it also acknowledges those who are coming through. Rural performers should also get a mention and I would hope the awards would also acknowledge indigenous performers. I fully support the creation of a stand-alone Australian Children’s Music Awards.
